For a local Alaskan, it's pretty disappointing. There's better eagle viewing at the landfill of any coastal community. The geology display was a let down for anyone with any interest in earth science--the displays told nothing of that particular rock or mineral, such as the formation it came from. The biology display was a room crammed with taxidermied animals without care given to create a good natural history experience. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because there is one tiny room off the the side with excellent historical prints, paintings, etc. Great place to kill an hour or two, loved The eagle show. A great wildlife conservation structure, a great museum, interactive activities and awesome avian ambassadors Owls, falcons, Bald Eagles... The staff is also full of knowledge and happy to share it, it was a great visit and I learned a lot about American wildlife. Wasn't expecting much, but it was strangely enjoyable here. They have an amazing diorama of the various animals that live in this area, as well as collections of animal skulls and other body parts, seashells, and even a small exhibit on rocks and minerals. They have a few scavenger hunts to do that range from easy to difficult, but I think they could carry more in their gift shop. They are home to two bald eagles, as well as a few other raptors, and I recommend taking the guided tour and going to watching the feeding! They only take fifteen people on the guided tours twice a day though, so I recommend asking for a spot when you go! Really small. Nothing much to see. Preferred the Hammer museum.
